Money Orders
A money order is a safe and convenient alternative payment method.
FEATURES
- Money orders are valid up to $1,000.
- Client receives a receipt which provides the client with information in case a trace or refund is needed. There is an $8.00 fee to trace or refund a lost or stolen money order.
- There is a $3.00 service fee. This fee is waived for Premier Checking and Premier Money Market clients.
Existing Citizens clients can purchase Money Orders at any Citizens location.
Official / Cashier’s Check
An Official Check is a safe way to carry large amounts of money or pay for purchases from vendors who do not accept personal checks.
FEATURES
- Funds in check form are more widely accepted than a personal check.
- Official checks are issued for $1,000 or more.
- The service fee is $5.00. This fee is waived for Premier Checking and Premier Money Market clients.
Existing Citizens clients can purchase Official Checks at any Citizens location.
Travelers Cheques / Gift Cheques
Travelers Cheques are a great payment method for clients that do not want to carry cash. They are a popular payment method when on vacation. Gift Cheques allow you to give a monetary gift safely and securely.
FEATURES
- American Express Travelers Cheques and Gift Cheques are recognized world-wide.
- 24 hour client Service Support.
- Lost or stolen Cheques can be refunded/replaced.
- Cheques never expire.
- There are over 100,000 refund locations.
- Replacement assistance provides help with lost or stolen passports and credit cards.
- Travelers Cheques and Gift Cheques can be purchased at most Citizens locations though they are sold only to clients.
Travelers Cheques
- Travelers Cheques can be purchased in increments of $20, $50 & $100.
- Single party Travelers Cheques have a 1% service fee ($1 per $100 worth of checks).
Dual party Travelers Cheques have a 1.5% service fee ($1.50 per $100 worth of checks).
- The service fee is waived for Premier Checking and Premier Money Market clients. The waiver also includes our grandfathered High Life Checking.
Gift Cheques
- Gift Cheques can be purchased in increments of $25, $50 & $100.
- There is a $2.50 per Cheque charge.
Personal Wire Transfer
A wire transfer is an electronic transfer of available funds from one financial institution to another. Citizens provides full service wire transfers.
Wire Transfer Features
- Wire transfers are not available on weekends or on Federal Reserve Holidays.
- There is no fee for Incoming Wires.
- The fee for all Outgoing Domestic Personal Wires is $25.
- The fee for all Outgoing Foreign Wires is $50.

- Beneficiary’s Name and Address
- Beneficiary’s Bank Name, Address and Routing Number
- Beneficiary’s Account Number
- Amount to be Wired
- Citizens account number to be debited
